friendship cannot thrive without respect and trust. i know this much.
that's why when a friend disrespects me, i can forgive her. but i never forget. and when i can't forget that one thing he/she did, it's hard for me to trust him/her... resulting in broken friendships. it might seem harsh to some people. but that's the way it is for me. if i can't trust you, you're just an acquaintance... just someone i get to meet once in a while for something. all those happy memories are just that... memories.
and in my opinion... it's better to have few real friends than a gazillion friends who just won't respect you as a person.
i've always given the highest respect to my friends, whether they're older or younger than me. i treat them with respect because i want to be treated the same way.
why did i post something like this? i don't know. maybe because a lot of things have been happening lately that made me think.
