i just spent 18 hours at the office.
18 hours, and all I did was review some thingies, read fics at soompi and oggle at yunho pics. life is good... not.
it is so frustrating. if it hadn't been for the required number of work hours, i would have gone home and surfed and downloaded to my heart's content. i would have downloaded stuff at the office if only the USB drives were enabled!! gawd.. they disabled it because some guy in some other site (was it in India or the States? i dunno -__-) was able to get hold of some confidential company information. now for an IT Company like ACS, Inc., that's very dangerous. *sniff* i understand that they want to be secured, but why do we have to suffer for something that another person did. *sniff*
anyway, enough of the ramblings. because tam is uploading inhwan pics in her livejournal account, i was forced to update and make my LJ look more presentable. lol... i even made icons. and who would've thought that icon-making is fun? was able to make 2 in just 30 minutes. it's not that great, but i like the results. i think i'm going to make more icons. aahh!! my PS-muse is back! now where's my writing muse??

six more days and then it's goodbye. i don't even know if we've got six days. *sniff*
our team's manager, Dexter, will be resigning and moving on to greener pastures.
and personally i'm sad because, even if we've only been together for 7 months, in those seven months, we've learned to accept each other's faults and weaknesses. and we not only accept them, we help each other overcome them.
of course, i support his decision. if he thinks it's good for him career-wise, then there's no use in asking him to stay. when he was saying goodbye last week, i started crying. we're really not that close, i'm the quiet one when it comes to team meetings and discussions, only talking when i've got something on my mind. but that doesn't mean that i do not appreciate his presence. i just can't help but cry. we started this team from ground zero. and yes, there were some goodbyes in the past... first with chai, then with pau, and lastly don. but this time it feels different. we're losing our tatay... and it feels like somebody's digging a hole in my heart.
to dexter, i wish you all the best. and i know what you said is true. life goes on... thank you so much for everything... for treating us not as a subordinate, but as a team. and for not letting us feel left out. and just so you know, no... i am not traumatized for having a queer manager.
and as a final thought... here's what Nervel sent in regards to career decisions: I have worked for several companies already so I guess you might be correct in saying I have had considerable experience about leaving and moving on. I will not stop you nor tell you to leave, though of course it will be better if you stay. In any career decision, leaving or staying I believe, based from my personal experiences, should only be done for the right reasons.

Do not leave the company because you're so damn frustrated about the way things are being run, or stay because you have this "messianic complex" that you can change things overnight. Be accepting that change is a slow and painful process at times and be thankful that you realize and act on things that can be changed and improved.
Definitely, do not leave or stay just because your parents want you to. I know I am advocating obedience to parents but again, we are talking about YOUR career. But learn to value their wisdom and discern well. Money isn't everything. The package being offered now might be better but look at the long-term prospects. Do not leave or stay just solely on the compensation package. Look for growth prospects and review their career plans for you. Your immediate gains today might actually be a loss a few years from now if you do the Math.
Boredom is another challenge all professionals are faced with during lull periods in their career. Do not leave because you have become so bored with your job. Do not stay either because you want things as they are. Change is inevitable in any organization. Talk to your boss. Ask for more responsibilities or other tasks if you're bored. Enroll in a special course. If you're satisfied with the status quo and is just waiting for retirement hoping things will stay the same, you're in for a big disappointment - either you will be forced to change or you will be forced to leave. Be ready before that time comes. Boredom or complacency is perennial battle most professionals have to deal with. Arm yourself with creativity everyday! Tonight I suggest you rest well. Sit still and listen to what He is saying.
PRAY. I have always made my career decisions through His guidance. He was and still is my Career Adviser/Talent Manager. Your work, our work, is a vocation. He knows us more than we know ourselves so trust Him for whatever plans He has for you. You can never go wrong. And remember: Use your head to get to the top. But use your heart to stay.

the pilot episode of Hana Yori Dango was broadcasted today on GMA. and i am not happy about the way they chopped it.. or the way they "expressed" what the characters are really saying. but that's just me. i guess this is just the way it is if you've actually watched the whole thing already. nice effort though. just one thing: too many commercials. T___T
and the highlight of the day... i saw Daniel. whee~ i think i seriously have a crush on the guy. lol.. he is just so cute!!! especially when he smiles!!! anyway, i went and got my O Documentary Book. and it is worth every penny!!! lookie (just do some clicking to see the bigger version of the pics):

this will be real quick...
just saw Hana Yori Dango teaser on GMA. thank god i was able to watch this a few months after it was aired in Japan (i think it was aired year 2005), so i was able to get to know the Japanese F4 way before non-asian-pop-conscious people. and before everybody starts claiming Soujiro, Rui, Akira and Domyouji... i want to say this first:
Matsuda Shota aka Nishikada Soujiro is MINE!!! :P
Oh yes, he is mine... so anybody who wants to claim him has got to go thru me first, okies?? lol...

finished watching Snow Queen last thursday (as scheduled) and i love it. now for those who don't like sad endings, don't watch this. come to think of it, it's not entirely sad. kind of bittersweet. yeah, that's it. it's not sad, but bittersweet. and as promised, the summary:
Snow Queen (Noon Eui Yeo Wang)
Synopsis: The fairytale Snow Queen tells of the love story of Gertha, Kay and the Snow Queen. In this Korean drama, there is indeed a Gertha, Kay and a Snow Queen. The drama tells the story of a man who lived throughout his young adult life feeling guilty because of a friend who died. He keeps thinking that his friend died because of him. He used to be a math genius until the day his friend died. He then became a boxer, living out his deceased friend's dream to be one. But one day, a girl came and made him realize that he wants to live his life guilt-free and happy. However, the past won't easily let him go and forget everything...

(correct me on my use of the word and i swear to god you'll get the death glare)now for a review... i am in love with this series. i could never regret downloading and watching it. it made me cry, laugh and realize that math is pure genius (ok, that last part was random but true). the last episodes are pure love... if there is someone like Han TaeWoong (played by Hyun Bin) in the world, i'd like to eat his brains. seriously. that guy is genius and romantic... amd Kim Bora (played by Sung YuRi) is so pretty... Okay, next up on my to watch list is... Over the Rainbow (because Fin's watching it and it seems nice.. and because i love hwanhee and i think Kim Ok Bin is so pretty). But first, i need to finish the anime Boys Be... and the TW drama Tokyo Juliet. I'm already on episode 8 of Boys Be, there are only 13 episodes. so i guess i'll be able to finish that today. As for Tokyo Juliet, i just finished episode 4. thirteen more episodes to go. I'll probably start with Over the Rainbow by this weekend.

i just realized that people are sometimes so selfish. they just think of their own problems, taking for granted that they have it better off than most of us. there are times that i just want to slap them and say: "hey, quit talking. i'm human too and i also have problems. the world doesn't revolve around you alone! now can you please listen to me for once?"
we just talk and talk, believing that the other person will simply listen. what we don't know is they're already fed up with listening, and they need someone to listen to them in return. *sigh* that's why sometimes i go invi on YM. people keep yakking about themselves, they keep forgetting that the other person also has something to say. the sad part is... when that other person attempts to open up, it often goes unnoticed. sad but true.

i'm about to start watching episode 12 of Snow Queen. this drama is really nice. i really, really like it. i recommend it to anyone who wants to watch a new Korean series. and after doing some math, i found out that it aired in Korea last year. funny, i just heard that Hyun Bin's got a new series, but I wasn't really paying that much attention. found out that this series was aired at the same time as Ju Mong, so i guess it makes sense that it got low ratings. but as this one forumer in soompi said, don't let ratings fool you. and i'd have to agree a hundred percent. there are a lot of factors that come into play when you talk about ratings...
what really got me into finally downloading and watching this drama is the quotes. lol.. i was reading this forum in soompi about the most memorable drama quotes, and there are a lot of forumers actually quoting stuff from this drama. that got me and downloaded the first episode. then i watched it... then the second episode, then the third... and then i got hooked. -_-
this is really nice, will post a summary or synopsis when i have the time. guess screencaps would have to do for now. ^_^

guess i'll have to be content with what i have now... at least there are no pressures and deadlines. but i guess that is more challenging, because i have to challenge myself... but this is what i love. and this brings me back to my plans in pursuing another degree. when i was in college, i promised myself that i would get another degree... something related to my Communication Arts because i honestly believe that's what i'm good at. hmm... plans plans plans... we have to make them :)
it was a funland day last monday... :) was able to talk to tintin and lolit on YM that day. it was such a coincidence... i realize how much i miss my funland/cpop friends. it's been a while since i've talked and met up with them. well, cecile, i've been in contact with her because we both like kpop too. my cpop friends... well, there's still the cpop obsession, but i guess it has subsided somewhat... we have different interests right now, a lot of them went to jpop, while i stick it out with kpop... and for some, like tintin, fandom isn't all that anymore. but i know that it's still there...
i sincerely believe that once a fangirl, always a fangirl.... ^_^

did i ever tell you guys that i dislike Apple's iPod Video? mind you, i did not say i hate it. i think that's way too harsh a word. i just dislike it. well, first because it's so software dependent *think iTunes* i spent the lot of Easter Sunday on sync-ing my mp3 files so that it can be transferred to the iPod. and i haven't started with the videos yet! all i was able to sync was the Choosey Lover MV. aish.... why didn't i wait for Creative Zen Vision: M to become available? T___T it's much more convenient since it is a PMP (Portable Media Player), and you don't need to do any converting, unless it's extremely necessary... *blames the shiny white color of iPod Video displayed at the PowerMac center*
yes yes, i gave in to the temptation . i was shopping again yesterday. T___T and i was supposed to save up for the Hong Kong and Malaysia trip. *sniff*
but I am still getting that Creative Zen Vision M.... maybe in a few months... ^_^

it's white... i think white is prettier than the black one...was able to finally finish Goong S with English subtitles. The subtitles was released early Easter Sunday, what a wonderful Easter gift right? I actually liked the ending, never mind that there are a lot of unanswered questions and it seemed so sudden... The series mentioned Philippines twice!! Se7en knows about the Philippines!! I did took screencaps when the subtitles flashed Philippines but stupid me forgot that i was watching a raw clip with soft subs, so I was only able to capture the scene, not including the subs. *sigh* but still, he mentioned the Philippines...
Over-all, i give this series a 7/10. that's still pretty high in my standards. The firs 2 episodes were ok. However, as the show progresses, it kind of became dragging. There isn't much interesting scenes, unlike the first Goong series. It picked up speed in the last few episodes though. The story evolved mainly on who would become the next Jeonha Pyeja (hopefully I got this right) or Crowned Prince. The love story aspect is, as usual, present, but it's very predictable so I guess the focal point is really the appointment of the Crown Prince.
what i love about the ending is... they all became friends. the four of them became very good friends, and i get that warm and fuzzy feeling. it is LOVE... i won't tell you who eventually became the Crown Prince and who ended up with who, you just have to watch it.
as for Se7en's acting... he is still a long way off. but he's not as bad as others think. a little bit more of acting lessons, and a few more demanding roles would do his acting bit good.*points up* it's green because it represents re-birth ^_^
i am now in the 5th episode of Snow Queen, and it is wonderful. it's funny with a dramatic twist. Sung YuRi and Hyun Bin's chemistry is excellent. Plus there are a lot of cute guys in it too. My cutie crush who was on Showbiz Extra (i think his name is Jason) had a cameo. he played a jerk, but he's still cute with that flawless English of his. i seriously think this Jason and the Jason in the TW shows i used to watch is the same (who is another crush of mine)... but i guess. they just look too similar.
oh, and i think i know that guy pao was talking about before. she said that she thinks she saw that other guy in the series in Ayala. but she's not that sure. heck, that guy is cute.
oh, again, about the series. i think this is a nice one. it's keeping me hooked, and i can't wait to finish watching episode 5... now if only i don't have to go to work today, i think i can finish the series by tonight. it's 16 episodes long and i've finished downloading the last episode yesterday. ^_^ i left the pc open while i was out shopping.
Will post more later... i think i'll post some screencaps of Snow Queen. we'll see. ^^

yes!! got a new dvd player. just in time for the Holy Week (you know, no television shows except for cable programs, closed malls, hot weather... get the drift?)... and so i am going to immerse myself in TVXQ! dvds. time to finish All About TVXQ!, Rising Sun Concert, History in Japan Vol.1, Heart, Mind and Soul The Live Tour, and Shinhwa's State of the Art Concert in Seoul. no, i'm not a very busy girl ^_^Y
good thing was able to find an all-region player with DiVX compatibility. whee~ i can now watch Snow Queen without staring all day at the monitor. i tried playing it earlier and it worked! bwahahaha.... now i really am not going to get out of my room. ^_^

we drove my brother to Benilde yesterday. i don't really get it with that school. i mean, their tuition fee is way more expensive than ours (graduate of DLSU-Main here, animo La Salle!), but thenthey can't provide their students with thesis rooms. now i know that we are required to have thesis rooms because of the nature of ou prototypes (BS-ECE major baby! ^^), but come on... with a tuition fee that nears P50,000 for three months, couldn't they just provide a room for all the sudents' thesis thingies?
anyway, what made me happy was going shopping at SM in Harrisson Plaza. now it might not be the most fashionable place compared to Makati, but there are really a lot of cute stuff there. i brought 2 jeans, one denim jacket, 3 shirts and 2 blouses. oh yes, i do spend a lot when the mood strikes me. but you have to understand that this only occurs once in a blue moon. i'm not a clothes shopper at all. i just buy clothes when i need to. i don't know why, i prefer buying stuff related to my obsessions... lol... yeah, crazy me, i know...
now on to more serious stuff. i need to find inspirational movies... aish.... why did i ever get involved with the movie club? it's too much work... T___T

currently watching Episode 17 of Goong S. aish... 3 more episodes to go. it's not too obvious that i want to finish this already, right? T_T
anyway, there's this song in this episode that I really really like. I'm not so sure about the title, but i am very very sure that Se7en was the one who sang it. i can never mistake that voice. i'm also not sure if it's included in the OST. i guess i'll just have to download the whole OST to find out. previews for episode 18 is interesting... let's see if that episode exceeds my expectation. lol.. there seems to be a lot of drama. ^_^
after this, i'm going to watch Snow Queen. i've already finished with epsiode 1 and i'm in the middle of episode 2. so far it's pretty interesting. i'm downloading episode 8 right now. it's almost done, so i guess.
i still have a lot of series to watch.... i don't know when i'll find the time. T__T but as they say, if there's a will, there's a way.
met up with tintin yesterday to get our orders from Daniel oppa. it felt like we were held up when we got out orders. but hey, i'm happy. got my Heart, Mind and Soul: The First Live Tour DVD, History in Japan Vol.1, and Rising Sun Concert DVD. *happy happy* and i saw the CD + DVD version of Shinhwa's State of the Art album. i'll be getting that next, as well as Tim's and Taebin's albums. lol.. my Kpop collection is expanding. i'm gonna take a picture of all of it one of these days.
as i was saying, after we got our orders, i stayed with tin 'coz her class is still a long way off. she wanted to go to a videoke, so we went. when we were on our way, we heard someone call our names. donna was there. lol.. mini-gathering eh? ^_^ she was already on the bus when she saw us. she got off then we all headed to providence to do some singing.
and for once, we sang english songs. and one korean and one japanese. lol.. we sang Bogoshipda and the Ghostfighter theme. adik!! it was fun. ^_^

changed layout... love it. it gives off that summer vibe (hello... see the sun? ^_^Y)
added a few bits and pieces in the sidebar. and i stubbornly placed the playlist, even though the words are so hard to read now because of the limited space. i don't care, as long as it serves its purpose (provide music), i'm keeping it. will be updating the playlist later.
and i just have to include the wishlist. hopefully, this'll keep me in track of the things i want to buy or do. also added links to my world which includes my account in different online communities. will be editing the stories portion sometime as well as the fave links part. i need to add some more links. and about that the writer in me blog, i'm still finishing up the rough draft for the first article. so hopefully, i'll be posting it by week's end.
what else... oh yeah.. i keep forgetting all the promises to post something. hopefully this april i won't forget anything. will be posting pics later. pics of what? i don't know. maybe some random stuff? ^_^

there are times i think... what will i do with all these stuff when i let go of fandom? well, it'll be part of those good memories. at least it made me happy at one point of my life, right? ^_^
maybe i just think too much...anyway, i went out with pao, edcel, tam and izce yesterday. we watched Premonition at Glorietta. it was a nice movie. quite scary sometimes, but in the end, it was all drama. however, Sarang In Ga Yo ruined the mood. Edcel's phone rang during the last dramatic scenes. lol... well at least it was still a lovesong. then after watching, we accompanied Izce to Teriyaki Boy because she had to buy food for her family. while waiting for her order to arrive, we talked about our plans to go to Malaysia or Hong Kong. We're still all game about it (it has to push thru! :)). when izce got her take-out, she went home and the rest of us went to Min Sok (the Korean restaurant i blogged about last week) to eat dinner. we went to P.Burgos by foot, all the way from Glorietta. though the weather isn't exactly cooperating (it was so hot on the way to the resto), we had fun with all the chikahan we did while walking.
